ICIL 2008 – Thursday – final presentations, executive meeting and special thanks to Prof. Ehud Menipaz!

Today at ICIL 2008 we had final presentations in the scientific programme and later in the evening a farewell gathering. The actions point for the near future included:

  • The next conference will be organized in Brazil 2010. The conference chair is Prof. Maria C. Fogliatti De Sinay of Military Institute of Engineering, Brazil. Further details on time and venue will follow in near future on this blog and via email to the ICIIL community.
  • We had also a proposal from Prof. Goran Dukic of University of Zagreb to organised one of the following meetings in Croatia. This sounds very attractive location near the Mediterranean sea and should attract also many people around the world.
  • We are going to compile a special issue proposal for International Journal of Logistics Systems Management (IJLSM) based on extended versions of the papers presented at the conferece.

Finally I would like to express my thanks to Prof. Ehud Menipaz and his great team in the local organizing committee who organized such a great gathering with good contacts to Israeli research community, editing the proceedings book with so many great papers, and a very interesting industrial visit to Dead Sea Works. I hope everyone enjoyed as much as I did! I wish everybody a safe trip back to home.

BR, Petri (Tel Aviv)
