LicketyShip - same day delivery business model in logistics

LicketyShip is a new start-up targeting on courier business. This e-commerce company claims to deliver purchased goods in selected Californian cities within two hours. The service is based on local retail shops and hard competition on local level couriers. The FexEd business model is mentioned in many logistics text books and LicketyShips adds some new ebusiness features here. According to TechCruch 2006, the founder Robert Pazornik claims that 30% of orders pay for overnight shipping and in many cases pay actually more for the courier service than for the item itself. I must admit that I have paid more than 7 USD for a 7 book to be delivered ASAP. So obviously there is still market for fast delivery.
